Week 26 commentary (Posted 01/11/05)
All the divisions have now finished apart from 2 outstanding games in Division B. These 2 matches will decide who goes down from Division B between Duke of York and Studio Bridge & Social Club. In Division A, Windmill avoided the drop by beating Hole in the Wall. In Division B Pig & Whistle held on to 2nd place by beating the winners of the league Old Bull & Bush. In Division C, the battle at the top saw The Tournament win over Laurie Arms.
Week 25 commentary (Posted 25/10/05)
The penultimate week of the league saw several things decided. In Division A , Leamington are the champions with St. Augustine's B runners up. Hole in the Wall are bottom with Acton Sports Club Panthers and Windmill vying to avoid relegation. In Division B the winners are Old Bull & Bush with Pig & Whistle, Cowshed and White Horse B fighting for 2nd spot. It is equally tight at the bottom with Oxford & Cambridge, Studio Bridge & Social Club and Duke of York trying to avoid the drop. While in Division C, Pear Tree, although leading at the moment (they have finished their fixtures), will finish in 2nd place behind either The Tournament or Laurie Arms who play each other next week.
Rearranged matches week commentary (Posted 19/10/05)
In Division A it has now become a straight race between Leamington & St. Augustine's B for the title but it is still close at the bottom with White Horse A, St. Augustine's A, Clarence, Acton Sports Panthers, & Windmill trying to avoid the drop into Div B with Hole in the Wall. In Division B Old Bull & Bush are favourites to win the league but it is very close between White Horse B, Pig & Whistle & Cowshed who will join them next season in Div A. At the bottom it looks like a straight fight between Studio Bridge & Social Club, Oxford & Cambridge & Duke of York with one of the teams going down. Division C is the tightest of the three divisions with only 2 points separating The Tournament, Pear Tree & Laurie Arms with only 2 teams gaining promotion.
Cup Final Week commentary (Posted 11/10/05)
Last night saw the Final of The Frank Reynolds Memorial Trophy between Chiswick Wanderers & Leamington held at Coningham Arms.
After a delayed start because of traffic chaos in the area Leamington fairly quickly went into a 4 - 0 lead. That was the signal for Chiswick Wanderers to start a come back. They won the last 2 singles & the 1st doubles, to make the score 4 - 3, before Leamington won the 2nd doubles & sealed the victory they'd been expecting a lot earlier.
Only one other game was played & that saw White Horse B beat Hope & Anchor 6 - 3 to go 2nd in Division B.
Doubles Competition Entry (Posted 07/10/05)
Entrants have until the night of the cup final (10th October) to return their doubles entry either by post to Frank Hawton, handed in to St. Augustine's Club or brought along to the cup final at Coningham Arms. The 5 per entry is also required when handing in the completed form.
Please note a new 2-min rule applies to the up and coming Doubles Competition only, for the time being. If successful it will be considered for the new season of the League. Full rules for the Competition can be found here
Week 24 commentary (Posted 04/10/05)
In Division A normal service has been resumed with Leamington back on top and still with one game in hand over St. Augustine's B, meanwhile both Chiswick Wanderers and Hampshire A won 8 - 1 to keep up the pressure on the 2 teams above them. In Division B none of the top 4 teams had a game but Duke of York registered a good win at Tommy Flynn's A (Hammersmith) and Hampshire B beat Oxford & Cambridge 7 - 2. Division C also saw the top 2 teams with no game but Pear Tree took full advantage with a 7 - 2 win over Queen Adelaide to go back to the top of the division.
New Forms made available (Posted 03/10/05)
Doubles Competition Player Registration for 2005 and Team Registration for the new season in 2006 are now available in the Important Documents section.
Week 23 commentary (Posted 28/09/05)
All change at the top of Division A with St. Augustine's B taking over top spot after White Horse A beat Leamington. The come back of the week belongs to Windmill who won 4 - 5 after trailing 4 - 0 at St. Augustine's A. In Division B the position remains the same with the top 4 teams Old Bull & Bush, Pig & Whistle, White Horse B and Cowshed all winning. The Tournament go back to the top of Division C after beating Pear Tree Misfits. Laurie Arms also go above Pear Tree after beating them 5 - 4.
Week 22 commentary (Posted 20/09/05)
Division A looks like a straight race between Leamington and St. Augustine's B who both had comfortable wins. In Division B Pig & Whistle won 8 - 1 over Duke of York and so kept the pressure on White Horse B and Cowshed who are chasing Old Bull & Bush. In Division C Pear Tree took advantage of the fact that The Tournament were not playing to overtake them and regain top spot.
Week 21 commentary (Posted 20/09/05)
The summer break did not affect the top teams in Division A. There were wins for Leamington, St. Augustine's B, Chiswick Wanderers, & Hampshire A. In Division B Cowshed beat Pig & Whistle & this allowed White Horse B to go into second place. There is very little in it at the bottom of this Div with 3 teams, Studio Bridge & Social Club, Oxford & Cambridge and Duke of York with equal points. In Division C only 4 points separate the top 5 teams with only 4 games to go. It seems to be between The Tournament, Laurie Arms, Pear Tree, Queen Adelaide and Shamrock Club with Chiswick Dynamos a further 2 points adrift with 5 games left.

There were only 2 games played this week, both in Div A. Eleusis Social Club beat Tommy Flynn's 'B' (Hammersmith) 5 - 4, & Acton Sports Club 'B' (Panthers) beat Windmill 7 - 2. The result of this is that Eleusis move up one place & Acton Sports climb off the bottom to 12th position. The league starts in earnest next week.
Next Matches (Posted 19/08/05)
The season will reconvene on 12th September which will be week 21 in the League. However, please check the fixtures because some teams in Division A and B have rearranged games on 5th September.
Extra game (Posted 02/08/05)
The only game this week resulted in a 5 - 4 win by Eleusis Social Club over Clarence in Division A. The league is now entering into its summer break & no more games are due to be played in August.
Week 20 commentary (Posted 01/08/05)
In Division A there were wins for Leamington, St. Augustine's B, Chiswick Wanderers & Hampshire A so little change in the league. Equally in Division B there were wins for Old Bull & Bush, Pig & Whistle, White Horse B & Cowshed so no change in this Div either. However its still all to play for in Division C, thanks to The Tournament beating Pear Tree & Laurie Arms winning, those three teams are locked together at the top of the table with each of them just 5 games left.
Results next week (Posted 20/07/05)
Due to the Webmaster being on holiday next week, the next results won't be available for download until 3rd Aug.
Week 19 commentary (Posted 20/07/05)
In the rearranged cup match Chiswick Wanderers booked their place in the final against Leamington with a 5 - 0 win over Hampshire A. In Division A St. Augustine's B took advantage of the fact that none of there rivals had a game with a 6 - 3 win over Clarence. The other surprise was Windmill beating Coningham Arms 5 - 4. In Division B Old Bull & Bush have opened up a 4 point lead after beating Cowshed, with surprise defeats for Pig & Whistle & White Horse B. In Division C it is still very close at the top with Pear Tree holding a 2 point advantage over The Tournament, Laurie Arms & Queen Adelaide.
Cup Round 5 week commentary (Posted 12/07/05)
In the League there were only 2 games played, in Division A White Horse A moved above the Clarence after beating Windmill 6 - 3, while in Division C The Tournament's 5 - 4 win over Queen Adelaide sees them regain the lead in the division.
Leamington beat the Clarence in their cup semi-final. The other semi, Hampshire 'A' vs Chiswick Wanderers had to be postponed & is now scheduled to take place next week.
Fixtures change again (Posted 6/07/05)

Fixtures change for Division A (Posted 4/07/05)
The cup match between Hampshire 'A' and Chiswick Wanderers has been postponed. To keep the cup on schedule, this has been moved to Week 20 (25th July). Consequently the league games they were playing that week have been postponed. Please check Division A fixtures for July and August for these changes. Note also, the rearranged game between Chiswick Wanderers and Leamington on 1st Aug has been postponed again.
Week 17 commentary (Posted 4/07/05)
Very little has changed this week in any division because the top 4 teams in each division all won their games. The most significant result was Clarence who won 6 - 3 away to Chiswick Wasps in division A & consequently moved up a couple of places (with games in hand).
Fixtures in August (Posted 24/06/05)
There are 2 matches being played on 1st August: Chiswick Wanderers v Leamington & Clarence v Eleusis Social Club. Both games are in Div A.
Fixtures (Posted 24/06/05)

Week 16 commentary (Posted 21/06/05)
Clarence has joined Chiswick Wanderers, Hampshire 'A' & Leamington in the Semi-Finals of The Frank Reynolds Memorial Trophy after beating Eleusis Social Club.
No significant changes in Division A this week. In Division B White Horse 'B' achieved a good, but close, win over Pig & Whistle and are now only behind them on frames difference. In Division C it is all change with Wilton Arms not having a game, The Tournament took full advantage & beat the previous 2nd placed team Chiswick Dynamos 7 - 2 to take over at the top of the table. It really is close in this Division with the top 8 teams only separated by 2 points.
Cup Round 4 commentary (Posted 15/06/05)
In Round 4 of The Frank Reynolds Memorial Trophy Chiswick Wanderers won comfortably 5 - 1 over Tommy Flynn's 'B' (Hammersmith) but the other two games went all the way with Leamington just beating Windmill 5 - 4, while Hampshire 'A' threw away a 4 - 1 lead over the current holders St. Augustine's 'B' before coming back to win the final frame. In the league match played White Horse 'B' moved into 3rd place with an 8 - 1 win over Tommy Flynn's (Chiswick) in division B.
Week 15 commentary (Posted 7/06/05)
The break for the Bank Holiday seems to have affected several teams, most notably in Div A. Leamington who lost their 1st match of the season at home to Windmill & St. Augustine's 'B' who also lost at home to Chiswick Wasps. In Div B there were wins for the 2 bottom teams Duke of York & Hope & Anchor but Old Bull & Bush & Pig & Whistle both continued on their winning ways. In Div C the top 2 teams, Wilton Arms & Laurie Arms, both lost at home to Pear Tree & Ravenscourt Arms respectively this allowed Pear Tree to go top & Shamrock Club are now 2nd but it is still a very tight Division with 4 points separating the top 10 teams.
Week 14 commentary (Posted 27/05/05)
Leamington increased their lead at the top of the table with a resounding 8 - 1 win over 2nd placed St. Augustine's B, while at the bottom of Div A Windmill recorded only their 2nd win of the season when they beat Chiswick Wasps 6 - 3. In Div B the top 4 teams all won but Norman Arms lost 4 - 5 at home to Hope & Anchor. Meanwhile in Div C it is very close as the top 2 teams both lost. That leaves Wilton Arms 2 points clear of Laurie Arms, Pear Tree, Shamrock Club, & Queen Adelaide with The Tournament a further 2 points behind with a game in hand. No games next week as it is Bank Holiday.
Division A fixture changes (Posted 26/05/05)
The fixtures in June for Division A have changed this week, please check the latest fixtures. This is due to a couple of games being postponed and we have had to postpone some league games to keep the cup progressing on time.

Hope & Anchor home games are now played at O'Donoghue's until further notice.
Week 13 commentary (Posted 17/05/05)
No surprises in Division A this week except perhaps White Horse 'A' beating Clarence and so climbing over them in the league. In Division B Old Bull & Bush beat the leaders Pig & Whistle and are behind them only on frames difference. Cowshed, Norman Arms & White Horse 'B' are only 2 points behind. All the major upsets are in Division C where the top 4 teams all lost. This leaves Wilton Arms 2 points clear of Queen Adelaide with Chiswick Dynamos, Kent House Social Club, Laurie Arms, Pear Tree & Shamrock Club all a further 2 points adrift. Team of the week, however, must be West London Deaf who recorded their first league win this season when they went to Kent House Social Club and won 6 - 3.
Week 12 commentary (Posted 16/05/05)
In Div A St. Augustine's B beat Chiswick Wanderers and Hampshire A beat Eleusis Social Club which means that undefeated Leamington are now 10 points clear of the 5th team. Little change in Div B with the top 3 teams all winning. Congratulations to Duke of York who broke their duck by winning at Princess Victoria. Shock home defeats for leaders Wilton Arms & 2nd placed Chiswick Dynamos by Pear Tree Misfits & Laurie Arms respectively means that Wilton Arms now have a 4 point gap over Chiswick Dynamos, Kent House Social Club, Laurie Arms, Pear Tree, & Queen Adelaide.

Week 11 commentary (Posted 12/04/05)
There were good away wins for the 2 bottom teams in Div A, Windmill broke their duck and won 5 - 4 at Tommy Flynn's 'B' (Hammersmith) & Clarence won 6 - 3 at St. Augustine's 'A'. In Div B Pig & Whistle lost 4 - 5 to Norman Arms so their lead over Norman Arms & Old Bull & Bush is cut to 2 points. Kent House Social Club had a good 7 - 2 win over Chiswick Dynamos which leaves Wilton Arms 4 points clear at the top of Div C. Result of the week was Laurie Arms beating Acton Sports Club Lions 9 - 0.
Fixtures (Posted 22/04/05)
May fixtures are now available. The 4th Round of the Cup has been drawn and is also now available.
Cup Round 3 commentary (Posted 19/04/05)
There were no unexpected results & the last 8 in the cup consists of the top 6 teams in Division A, & the bottom 2, also of Division A. In the rearranged matches Wilton Arms beat Chiswick Dynamos and have opened up a 4 point gap at the top of Division C.
Week 10 commentary (Posted 12/04/05)
In Div. A Leamington continued on their winning way but St. Augustine's B & Chiswick Wanderers are hard on their heels. In Div. B Pig & Whistle have opened up a 4 point gap over Old Bull & Bush, Norman Arms, White Horse B, & Tommy Flynn's (Chiswick). In Div C Wilton Arms maintained their 2 point gap over Chiswick Dynamos but the team of the week must be Kent House Social Club who went away to Acton Sports Lions and won 9 - 0.
Duke of Cornwall (Posted 06/04/05)
Due to four 'no shows', Duke of Cornwall is now expelled from the league for the remaining of the 2005 season.
Week 9 commentary (Posted 05/04/05)
There was very little change in Div A as the top 4 teams all won & the bottom 5 teams all lost. In Div B Studio Bridge & Social Club won at Norman Arms and this has meant Pig & Whistle has opened up a slight gap. Unfortunately Duke of Cornwall have now had 4 'no shows' and have been removed from the league, all of their results in Div C are now void. This has meant that Wilton Arms have a 2 point lead over Chiswick Dynamos with a better frames difference.
Week 7 commentary (Posted 08/03/05)
In Division A Leamington & St. Augustine's 'B' have opened up a gap at the top of the table and they both have a healthy points difference. In Division B Cowshed lost at Oxford & Cambridge allowing Pig & Whistle & Norman Arms to pull away. In Division C Pear Tree have a distinct advantage over the chasing teams Chiswick Dynamos & Wilton Arms because those two teams play each other in a rearranged match.
Week 6 commentary (Posted 02/03/05)
In Div A Leamington continue unbeaten after beating previously 3rd placed Hampshire 'A' while in Div B it is still very close between Pig & Whistle, Cowshed, & Norman Arms. In Div C Pear Tree took advantage of the fact both Wilton Arms & Chiswick Dynamos were involved in rearranged cup games to leap over them in the league.
Week 4 commentary (Posted 10/02/05)
There are only 2 unbeaten teams after just 4 games. Leamington in Div A & Wilton Arms in Div C. Div B looks very tight at this early stage in the season.
