Match Commentary for Week 5 (Posted 20/10/10)

A week full of surprises & upsets! No postponments for 4 weeks then (like the buses) 3 come along at once.

In World Div Leamington lost the game & position to O'Donoghue's C, in the only other game played in the division Duke of Cornwall scrapped home against Windmill Warriors.

In Old EPA Div 1 White Horse lost the game & position to Connolly's, there were also wins for O'Donoghue's A & Orchard Tavern B, while Laurie Arms drew with Orchard Tavern A.

In Old EPA Div 2 The Stag A lost to Springbok A but held on to their position, there were wins for Fiddlers, Pig & Whistle & Springbok B.

Match Commentary for Weeks 1 to 4 (Posted 20/10/10)

In World Div the table has a familiar look to it with Leamington (100%) leading O'Donoghue's C by a point. This is unusual for Leamington who traditionally get of to a slow start then finish strongly, their new venue does not seem to favour Duke of Cornwall B who have only managed one win but 'new rules' does not seem to affected Windmill Warriors much.

In Old EPA Div 1 White Horse are again leading the way but are being chased hard by Connolly's, Parish A & O'Donoghue's A who are only one point behind. A further point behind are Orchard Tavern B, Wilton Arms & Parish B. It looks as though this is going to be a close league.

In Old EPA Div 2 the 'surprise' leaders are The Stag A who, like Leamington, have a 100% record so far. The chasing teams are Hammersmith Club, The Stag B, Fiddlers (who were my preseason favourites to win) & Springbok B.

In Old EPA Div 1 Parish B went down at Hammersmith Club B 7 - 5 so the White Horse have a 7 point lead at the top with only 3 games left so they only have to turn up at these games to win the league, in the other game Windmill Warriors overcame St. Augustine's Caballeros 7 - 5.

In Old EPA Div 2 St. Augustine's Saints achieved remarkable 7 - 5 win at Wilton Arms so inflicted their 1st league defeat of the season, the other game saw The Clarence beat Duke of Cornwall 8 - 4. Match Commentary EPA Week 19 / World Week 21 (Posted 12/03/10)

Two teams hit the headlines this week for the wrong reasons, both Rileys West 12 B & O'Donoghue's B were expelled from the league for three 'no shows' in the season. The current tables reflect the fact that their respective results from the 2nd half of the season are expunged.

In the only game played in World Div Rileys West Sands beat Leamington B & it does not affect the table.

In Old EPA Div 1 it was a week of nail biting draws, Laurie Arms & Norman Arms, O'Donoghue's A & Tournament & Parish A & B all finished 6 - 6 in the other matches the winners were Connolly's, White Horse & Orchard Tavern.

In Old EPA Div 2 Wilton Arms clinched the league with a resounding 11 - 1 defeat of West London Deaf which leaves them 9 points clear with only 3 games left, the other winner was Stag but both the matches between Springbok A & B & between St. Augustine's Saints & Earl of Derby finished 6 - 6.
